And I decided it needed a song. So I wrote this, with the idea that Lois would sing it
about her impossible love for Superman.
Nothing happened with my fan fiction. But I liked the song, and sang a straight-worded
version at several performances I gave. Of course, I was in the closet then; and
people were very fussy about what pronouns each singer used. However, neither
of those things is true any more. I'm so out I could have my own parade; and I've heard
several female artists on YouTube who cover Beatles songs, and don't change the pronouns.
So, the words are back to what they were originally and I'm singing them. So sue me.
How Can I Make Him (Love Me)
By Paul S Cilwa
How can I make him love me?
How can I make him see
He was born to be mine
Until the end of time?
That is our destiny.
How can I make him love me?
How can I make him care?
You've known him all these years,
So tell me, I'm all ears.
I only want our lives to share.
And when I'm walking down the street,
I keep praying I might meet
Him as he's passing on some errand of his own.
But whenever he goes by,
His head is always in the sky,
And I'm left standing on the sidewalk all alone.
How can I make him love me?
How can I make him learn
That it just wasn't smart
For him to take my heart
And not give his back in return!
I long to take his hand and tell him I'm his man,
And that's the only thing for which I yearn.
How can I make him love me?
How can I make him learn
That it just wasn't smart
For him to take my heart
And not give his back in return?
I long to take his hand and tell him I'm his man,
And that's the only thing for which I yearn.
