| I begin hydrogen peroxide therapy. |
| Estimated reading time: 6 minute(s) (1314 words) |
So,
here am I, about to start another alternative health protocol.
You might remember that, a couple of years ago, I went through a
medically-supervised
detox-procedure to remove heavy metals and other toxins from my
system, for the purpose of losing weight. Well, I did lose
weight—about 70 pounds—afterwards. It's possible that my
necrotizing faciitis may have been a factor in losing the
weight, however I have kept it off even though I am less active, so
I would say that experiment was a success.
"It's no secret if you know where to look," he said. "I've been
ingesting hydrogen peroxide every day for the past 13 years."
Hydrogen peroxide, of course, is the stuff that comes in a brown
bottle at the drugstore, is very inexpensive, and is typically used
to sterilize wounds, whiten teeth, and bleach hair. It was
recommended to me years ago, by my dentist, to treat and prevent
gingivitis. But it had never occurred to me to drink it!
"Well, don't drink that kind!" my new friend, Will,
warned. "That comes with all kinds of stabilizers that you wouldn't
want inside your body. It's got to be food grade hydrogen
peroxide, and you have to dilute it very carefully to get it to a
safe level. But if you use it according to instructions…well, 13
years ago I had Stage 4 colon cancer, arthritis, and cataracts so
bad I could hardly see. Oh, and I was mostly bald, and what hair I
had was gray. And I was fat and had diabetes. In short, I was a
mess."
"Seriously?" I asked. "So you took hydrogen peroxide to ease the
side effects of the chemo…?"
He laughed derisively. "Chemo actually cures very few cases of
cancer. I researched it and decided not to undergo it at all.
Instead, I started on H2O2.
After a year, the doc said there was no trace of my colon
cancer, or in fact any cancer anywhere. But, meanwhile, I had also
lost 87 pounds, my hair was starting to grow back and in almost my
original color. And I've kept it up, at a maintenance level, and now
my cataracts are almost gone."
"Wow," I said. "And your diabetes?"
He shriugged. "Well, I also became a vegan a few years back, and
diabetes doesn't bother anyone who follows a vegan diet, anyway. So
I don't know if it's 'cured' but it's no longer an issue. I'm 75,
live in my RV, and am well enough and strong enough to do volunteer
work here at the hot spring. And I owe it all to hydrogen peroxide!"
So, when I got home, I started researching H2O myself. I found two different positions: Most health
care professionals recommended against trying anything so crazy, but
with absolutely no reference to studies or anecdotal
evidence to back up that position. The enthusiasts, on the other
hand, offered their own experience and other anecdotal evidence. A
study would be nice, but as one experimenter pointed out, hydrogen
peroxide is cheap; it cannot be patented, and if it can
cure cancer, that would put the multi-billion-dollar-a-year cancer
industry out of business. So there's very little impetus for
scientific studies to be performed, and every reason to discourage
such.
The chemical abbreviation for hydrogen peroxide is H2O2.
That's a simple water molecule with an extra oxygen atom. H2O
is very stable; H2O2 is not. That extra oxygen atom is eager to go anywhere
else that lacks it and it so happens that harmful bacteria, viruses,
fungal cells, and cancer cells are all short on oxygen and attract
any available oxygen atoms to them. These cells are anaerobic,
which means oxygen is actually poisonous to them. So they suck up
the extra oxygen atom, and then explode on contact, while healthy cells remain untouched.
You can see this yourself. If you rinse your mouth with regular
drugstore hydrogen peroxide, and then look in your mouth, you'll
find it's all foamy. Or, put some H2O2
on an open cut and watch the same thing happen. That "foam" is
exploded bacteria.
To get that effect inside you, you must use food grade H2O2
which is a 35% solution of hydrogen peroxide in distilled water (as
opposed to the 3% hydrogen peroxide solution in water and
stabilizers that you buy from the drug store). 35% is very
strong and will actually burn your hand if you spill any on you. You
cannot ingest this concentration directly; you actually want about a
3% solution but without the stabilizers.
So you take the 35% solution, with an eye dropper, and you add a
few drops to a small glass, about 6 ounces, of distilled
water. (Some people have used juice instead.) The reason for the
distilled water is that the H2O2
is so eager to react with stuff, it will react with what it's mixed
with; and if you mix it with tap or even bottled water, it will
react with chlorine or minerals, forming dangerous free radicals
that you do not want in your body. In fact, for this
reason, you must ingest the H2O2
on an empty stomach. So you drink it at least three hours after
eating, and an hour before. (Obviously this protocol doesn't lend
itself to snacking!)
The protocol recommends building up to the therapeutic dose of
the H2O2
gradually. It's recommended that you start with 3 drops, diluted in
distilled water, three times a day (for a total of nine drops). Add
a drop to each dose, each day, up to a maximum of 25 drops per dose.
(Use as much distilled water for dilution as needed to dilute the
bad taste.)
After following this protocol for 30 days or so, you then reduce
down to a "maintenance" dose of 25 drops once every four days.
People who have done this have noted that there are side
effects. In the first few days, most people experience a runny nose
and, possibly, coughing. This is because your body is getting rid of
the expoded harmful cells. Diahrea is another possibility, as is
frequent urination. In other words, your body will use any outlet it
has to dispose of the toxic remnants. I am now on day 3, taking 5
drops 3 times a day, and I am experiencing all these effects. Many
people also report nausea, but so far I've been spared that.
I should also mention that most accounts I've read warn of a
"healing crisis." This is an event in which a person, undergoing any
therapy for a severe illness, may experience a bout of symptoms just
before the disease is finally conquered. H2O2
healing crises tend to include nausea, vomiting, headache, and more.
Fortunately, such crises do not last long. And the results are worth
it!
So, I intend to report my progress here. A number of others on
the web have done the same. Maybe there's no money for a proper
scientific study of hydrogen peroxide, but we have the web and a
thousand personal accounts would be just as good—or better. After
all, that's how we humans learned everything we know, up until the
1700s and the discovery of Scientific Method. (Not by using the
Internet, obviously, but by comparing notes with each other to see
what works and what doesn't.)
If my hair grows back, you'll be the first to know!
